welcome to my brain's favorite organizational system.

Saira Chawla. Machine learning engineer. Somehow both over-engineered and under-explained. Everything here is intentional. Interpret that how you will.

My clarity lives in data - but it's empowered by the stories that stay with me.

I got here by solving what others ignored - and asking what others feared to challenge.

Have you ever edited your ambition and passion to fit the room? Tell me.

This site is where I track the systems I'm building, the rules I'm breaking, and the chaos I'm embracing.

TLDR: How I Got Here

🍭
The simple days. Not yet shaped by others. Unaware of the world's complexities, but curious about everything. It was easy to be brave because I didn't know what fear was. Hate was foreign. Love was instinctive. I now carry fear and understand hate - but neither changed me at my core.

Beginning to learn with a purpose and to achieve my goals. Carrying the weight of expectations, but also the thrill of possibility. Where I first realized the tiny box they built and wanted me to stay in - and started breaking free. The beginning of my fight against conformity and the start of my self-discovery.

🐻
Where everything changed. Where doors began to open. The place where I learned to code, to analyze, to question. The memories still linger - the golden, the storm-gray, and everything in between. I graduated with a dual major Bachelor's in Data Science and Economics - but left with so much more than a degree.

Worked hard, played hard. Jumping into adulthood head-first. My thesis utilized NLP to understand the beliefs across various demographics regarding women's rights. I completed 2 research assistant positions, self-taught and earned an AWS certification, lead a Cloud Computing lecture, and graduated my Master's with a 4.0 GPA.

The world has always been my oyster, and it still is. Not because it handed me everything - but because I learned how to crack it open. I am 📍 currently a ML/AI Engineer at AXM where I am at the forefront of ethical innovation in the world of Marketing, ML, and AI. I've already achieved some dreams - but I'm not done dreaming.

Proof of Thought

I specialize in bayesian statistics and casual inference - because I want to understand not just what we do, but why.

I use Python and MLOps to move insights from experimentation to deployment.

I believe coding is an art - but my code isn't clean because I want it to be pretty. It's clean because it's trusted. It's relied on.

The current product I am working on?

Agile Mixed Modeling (AMM) - our real time marketing optimization solution.

I explain how things actually work - not just what's on the slide.

Commit History

I build often, but I suck at committing often. This is me taking accountability.

My Voice, Unsmoothed

Writing is how I debug emotion - until the compiler outputs clarity.

I write to translate the unspoken into something that demands a response.

I write to deconstruct the frameworks that dismissed and simplified me - and honor the stories that made me seen.
